Gold Price USD per Troy Ounce

It is the global spot reference for one troy ounce of gold quoted in US dollars (often shown as XAU/USD). Most international bullion markets, ETFs, and futures use this convention before converting into local currencies such as NZD.

A troy ounce is the precious-metals weight standard and equals 31.1035 grams. It is slightly heavier than an avoirdupois (everyday) ounce, so bullion charts and dealer quotes almost always use troy ounces.

NZD gold is the same underlying metal value converted through the live NZD/USD exchange rate, then shown with local dealer premiums. If USD gold is flat but the NZ dollar weakens, the NZD gold price can still rise.
